Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring
Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle with this diamond ring in 2017. He personally designed the ring using some of the rare diamonds from his mother’s collection.
About the Ring: The ring showcases a bold cushion cut diamond in the center. The mounting is handcrafted from yellow gold. Antique old mine cut diamonds flank the sides. (Updated) The ring was later updated in June 2019 and diamonds were added to the shank.
Mariah Carey and James Packer
For her third engagement in 2016, she received a gorgeous diamond engagement ring worth about $7.5m from her boyfriend, at that time, James Packer, a casino billionaire. Sadly, their engagement was broken later that year.
About the Ring: It is an outstanding 35-carat emerald-cut diamond ring, flanked by two baguette-cut diamonds on both shoulders. Double-prongs hold the corners of the diamond in place.
Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias
As one of the more private celebrity couples, information about any aspect of Kournikova and Iglesias’s private life is difficult to come by. But, when Kournikova appeared wearing what looked like an engagement ring, the press was all over it.
About the Ring: Although not confirmed, the ring appears to be an 11ct fancy pink diamond in a pear cut, with white diamonds complementing the center stone. The diamond appears to be set in platinum.
Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine
Proving that older can be better, Adam Levine gave model Behati Prinsloo an antique old mine diamond engagement ring. They got married in July of 2014.
About the Ring: The diamond is set in a platinum setting and sits atop some stunning open filigree work. Diamonds and milgrain adorn the under-gallery. The ring looks like Edwardian Era craftsmanship. The center diamond looks to be around 4 – 5 carats in size.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got engaged with a beautiful oval cut engagement ring. They got married in September 2012.
About the Ring: The 12-carat oval cut diamond is set in a micro-pave’ platinum mounting. Prongs hold the diamond from all four corners. The design is simple, but the effect is very impactful!
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Mike Fisher proposed to Carrie Underwood in 2016. She used the opportunity to bring awareness to domestic abuse.
About the ring: The ring showcases a 6-carat fancy yellow. Surrounding the main attraction is a halo of beautiful white diamonds. Because of the size of the yellow diamond, Underwood’s wedding ring was made with a cutaway effect so it could sit around her engagement ring. The ring seems to be made from platinum while the prongs of the diamond are crafted from yellow gold.
Christina Aguilera and Matt Rutler
Matt Rutler proposed to Christina Aguilera with a stunning engagement ring in February 2014.
About the Ring: If you’re going to design an engagement ring yourself, don’t hold back! And Matt Rutler certainly didn’t. Over a year in the making, the ring has a 4-carat oval cut diamond in the center, framed by a diamond halo. The overall design has a fleur-de-lis effect extending the overall length. The twisted double shank is also encrusted with smaller diamonds, resulting in a very lovely vintage look.
Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn
Ed Sheeran proposed to Cherry Seaborn in January of 2018. Sheeran and Seaborn are an unusual couple, in that they both wear engagement rings.
About her Ring: Her ring features a 5-carat cushion cut diamond, set in a platinum double-band setting.
About his Ring: His – designed by Seaborn, no less – Is also a double band affair, made from silver clay. The media buzz was so strong when Sheeran wore the ring that he had to publicly announce that it wasn’t a wedding ring.
Enikko Parrish and Kevin Hart
Funnyman Hart decided to get serious when he proposed to longtime girlfriend Parrish in August 2014. Matching his outgoing persona when he’s on stage, he went for a ring which reflects that big personality.
About the Ring: A 6-carat, round cut diamond, with a further halo of diamonds around it is the main attraction on this bill. An estimated total of 11 carats, and set into platinum, this ring is certainly no joke.
Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade
Famous Basketball Player Dwayne Wade proposed to actress Gabrielle Union in December of 2013.
About the Ring: When Dwayne Wade proposed to Gabrielle Union, he did so with an 8.50-carat cushion cut, internally flawless diamond. Given the rarity of such quality at such large sizes, it’s no surprise that the price reached the 7 figures. The 4 prongs, solitaire platinum setting, and plain band mean that the diamond is the slam dunk attraction every time.
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin
Given how many round cut and cushion cut diamond engagement rings we see today, we just love Amal’s 7-carat, platinum set, emerald cut stone. If you have the fingers for it, which the elegant lawyer certainly has, then it just looks spectacular. If you’re going to be the fiancée of one of the most stylish men in the world, then you deserve something a bit special.
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez
Oliver Martinez proposed to Halle Berry in March 2012. The band contains inscriptions visible only to the owner, which Berry says tells the story of the relationship in a code only the two of them can decipher.
About the Ring: In a definite change from convention, Martinez presented Berry with an exquisite 4-carat emerald set in yellow gold, which also contains 2 diamonds on either side. The yellow gold is brushed and hammered.
Hannah Davis and Derek Jeter
As one of the biggest names in baseball, it’s right that Jeter should have chosen a stunning diamond engagement ring for Davis. They got engaged in November of 2015.
About the Ring: The diamond features a 4-carat diamond, set in a white gold french setting. The quality and color of the diamonds seem to be very high. Really, we probably shouldn’t have expected Jeter to do anything but swing for the bleachers when buying an engagement ring.
Iggy Azalea and Nick Young
Iggy and Nick officially announced their engagement in November of 2013. When Young set about working with a designer to produce the perfect engagement ring, you might expect it to be reasonably traditional, with a white diamond. But, instead, Young went for an amazing fancy yellow, cushion cut diamond.
About the Ring: The yellow diamond weights 8.20-carats and is further adorned with 2.50-carats of white diamonds in a halo and on the shoulders. The ring seems to be set in platinum.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
We love rubies, and that includes the wonders of ruby engagement rings. In November of 2010, Eric Johnson proposed to Jessica Simpson with a stunning ruby ring.
About the Ring: Rubies bigger than 4 carats are exceedingly rare, so the trend is to use other stones for engagement rings. Which is what makes Simpson’s ring so special. A 5-carat ruby, flanked by two 2.5ct diamonds is beautifully set in yellow gold. Prongs hold the stones in place.
Jodi Sweetin and Justin Hodak
As the star of Full House, it’s probably appropriate that the engagement ring is full of great diamonds. In January 2016, Justin proposed to Jodi.
About the Ring: The emerald cut, 4.5ct diamond at the heart has a double halo of smaller diamonds surrounding it. The outer halo is detached from the inner halo, making a floating effect. The split shank is also diamond encrusted.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
Justin Timberlake proposed to Jessica Biel in December 2011. The singer and the actor got married October 2012 in Italy.
About the Ring: Biel’s engagement ring is another with just a hint of the “different” about it. Taking nothing away from the magnificent 6-carat center diamond, there are two diamond halos sitting atop some lovely open filigree work. The real difference, though, is on the shoulders. Each has a round aquamarine set in black rhodium, with the overall setting being 18K white gold.

Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock celebrated their marriage in October of 2013.
About the Ring: The center diamond showcases a beautiful fancy yellow diamond, weighing in at about 6-carat, and in the shape of a Radiant Cut. Clarkson’s ring also has a diamond halo, and further diamonds set into the shank, and along the shoulders. This ring is proof that yellow diamonds can be every bit as effective as the most perfect white diamond.
Ciara and Russell Wilson
Celebrities often get a bad name for wearing bling when, really, it’s just a handful who do so. But, occasionally, a ring appears which should be bling, but just isn’t. Ciara’s 16ct (count ’em) ring, with a handful more carats in the supporting diamonds on each shoulder, is remarkably tasteful for one so bold. At an estimated F color, it’s likely that we’re talking $2-2.5m in total. Bling money, exquisite taste.
Lea Michele and Zandy Reich
Reich wanted to make the ring he intended to propose with just a little different. As a result, he ended up working with a designer to create the perfect one. The 4ct diamond is unusual, in that it is an elongated radiant cut, which is rarely seen. The diamond halo around it just makes the center stone pop, and adds a huge amount of sparkle to an already impressive engagement ring.
Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd
When restaurateur Todd proposed to the star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, he made sure to do it with a ring that fit right in with the Hollywood set. We don’t see too many emerald cut diamond engagement rings, but when we do! This whopper is a huge 20ct, with a pavé diamond halo. Estimates put it’s purchase price at somewhere around $2m.
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley
By celebrity standards, Robbie’s engagement ring from now-husband Ackerley is remarkably understated. An estimated 2.5ct pear cut diamond in a solitaire setting says almost all there is to say. The band is very thin, although it does have small diamonds running down each side. The pear also points up towards the wrist, not down the length of the finger, as is more common. Whatever the reason for the unusual design, it’s a far cry from the huge diamonds most stars like to display, that’s for sure.
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara
Trainor is, much like the title of one of her biggest hits, a hopeless romantic. But that didn’t stop her pushing Sabara to the jewelry store to buy the ring. A modest 2.5ct cushion cut diamond with a halo of smaller diamonds are set in platinum. The band also has diamonds on each side. Trainor is a big personality, which makes her understated ring something of a surprise, but it doesn’t make it any less beautiful.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
At one point, there was probably no bigger a celebrity couple than Kunis and Kutcher. But, when Kutcher proposed, he did so in probably the most classic way possible. A 5 carat, solitaire Tiffany diamond ring was all it took for Kunis to say “Yes”.
Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied
Designer Jamie Wolf has made rings for half of Hollywood, or so it seems. All, though, are stunning. The great thing about Portman’s ring is that it is about as eco-friendly as it gets. The antique old mine cut diamond has a surrounding halo, with an extra layer of pavé underneath the main setting. The platinum itself is all recycled metal, making a very green ring indeed.
Naya Rivera and Big Sean
It feels like an age since Rivera was delighting the world in Glee, but there’s no denying she’s all grown up. The ring presented by rapper Big Sean has a 5ct, cushion cut diamond with micro pavé, and set in platinum. All in all, the ring is a little more understated than we might expect from the spectacular designs of Sean’s clothing range.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
Wilde’s engagement ring is unmistakably antique, and very indicative of the style popular in France in the early 20th century. Colored stones are still the exception in engagement rings, rather than the rule, which makes this ring particularly great. A 2.5ct center diamond has a halo of emeralds which just lift the whole piece entirely. It’s different, and it’s the better for it.
Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka
Hilton is no stranger to excess and the engagement ring given to her by Zylka doesn’t change that. A huge, really huge, 20ct pear-shaped diamond is surrounded by 2cts of smaller diamonds. Subtle, this ring most certainly isn’t. It is estimated to have cost in the region of $2m, definately fitting for the heiress of one of the largest hotel chains in the world.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank
We in the US just love the British royal family. Even a princess who will never be queen is okay by us. Eugenie’s engagement ring from long-time boyfriend Brooksbank is a pink sapphire, surrounded by diamonds. The overall look is very reminiscent of the ring given to her mother by her father, Prince Andrew. We hope this marriage is blessed with more good fortune.
Steve-O and Lux Wright
When you are routinely known by a name like Steve-O, you’d better get more right than wrong. Fortunately, the Jackass star got it exactly right with the choice of the engagement ring for wright. An estimated 3ct diamond is beautifully set in a fancy yellow gold band. Very much a vintage style, the diamond and gold work perfectly together.
Victoria and David Beckham
The closest thing to a British king and queen without being royalty, David Beckham is loved the world over. When he proposed to Victoria, he did it with a single ring.
